A Roundtable on ‘Connecting Hearts and Cultures Through Mystical Wisdom’
Yesterday, an insightful roundtable took place with H.E. Manuel Frederico Pinheiro da Silva, Ambassador of Portugal, and Mr. Hannes Machor, Deputy Head of Mission of the Austrian Embassy in Islamabad. The event was jointly organized by the Sufi Council and SACH Institute at Marriott Hotel, Islamabad.
In his opening remarks, Peer Syed Mudassir Shah emphasized that while we face many differences globally and in South Asia, our shared culture, heritage, art, and mysticism offer common ground to bring countries, nations, and communities closer together.
H.E. Manuel Frederico Pinheiro da Silva chaired the roundtable, stating that focusing on negativity in historical references leads nowhere, but looking towards the future with optimism can pave the way for prosperity.
Sahibzada Saad ur Rehman, Custodian of Eidgah Shareef, spoke about the mystical values of Sufis, while renowned scholar Mohammad Mehdi highlighted the importance of common heritage as a binding force, especially in South Asia. Additionally, famous journalist Mian Asif (Wisi Baba) discussed the security aspects of the region.
