Peer Syed Mudassir Nazar Shah is a visionary leader and the Sajjada Nasheen of Darbar-e-Alia, Saroba Sharif in the Jhelum district. As a prominent figure in the Sufi community, Mr. Shah is dedicated to fulfilling his spiritual responsibilities while actively engaging in social and political efforts, both nationally and globally. His leadership transcends borders, focusing on promoting peace, unity, and religious harmony.
He is the Chairman of the Sufi Council, where he leads the largest global network of Sufi leaders, addressing critical issues like extremism, promoting tolerance, and fostering collaboration among diverse communities.
Mr. Shah is also the Founder and President of the Sufism, Arts, Culture, and Heritage Institute (SACH Institute), an initiative that integrates Sufism and cultural heritage with contemporary global challenges, such as climate change and social justice. Through his Climate Justice Initiative, Mr. Shah is championing efforts to address environmental and climate challenges, particularly in South Asia, while advocating for sustainable solutions and greater cooperation on these pressing issues.
With a Master’s degree in Political Science from Balochistan University, Quetta, and his roots in the Bolan district of Balochistan, Mr. Shah has a profound understanding of regional issues, including extremism, terrorism, and the socio-political dynamics of Balochistan. His extensive international travels have enriched his perspective, allowing him to engage in faith-based diplomacy and interfaith dialogue across the USA, UK, UAE, Egypt, Turkey, Thailand, Bosnia, France, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Sweden, Russia, and Iran.
Mr. Shah’s areas of expertise include networking, lobbying, and fostering cross-cultural dialogues. As the President of the Pak U.S. Alumni Network – Islamabad Chapter, he continues to bridge cultural and religious divides, with a vision centered on dialogue, connectivity, and long-lasting solutions for global challenges.
